Helping women fight breast cancer in the Yampa Valley since 2001

The Yampa Valley Breast Cancer Awareness Project (YVCAP) was established in 2000 for women of Routt and Moffat counties to prevent or treat breast cancer, which means all the money raised stays in the community.

All the money raised stays in Routt and Moffat Counties to help uninsured and underinsured women to pay for mammograms, annual wellness exams and assist in breast cancer treatment costs. We have donated a custom recliner for the chemo room at the Yampa Valley Medical Center, purchased eyeglasses for an uninsured patient, replaced the wheels on a patient wheelchair, purchased wigs, covered travel costs for woman who had to go to Denver or Vail for treatment, made a COBRA payment for a woman who lost her job during the course of treatment, covered outpatient biopsies and paid for over 250 mammograms for uninsured and underinsured women.
